Katie & Bill Allen (1951)

It all started when Katie & Bill (KABIL) got married in 1949. They both were born and raised in the Texas panhandle during the Dust Bowl and the ‘Dirty Thirties’. Farming and cattle weren’t just a way of life for them, it was how they survived. Growing up they learned how to raise their own food – vegetables from the garden, eggs and chickens, milk and beef from the cows. Even though times were tough, they dreamed of raising a family. They loved each other, worked hard, toughed it out, and began their journey together. Bill, or “Farmer” as he was known to everyone, went to El Paso, TX and bought his first herd of Mexican steers and KABIL Cattle Company was born.

The Allen Family (1966)

As their family grew, so did the farming and cattle business. Katie & Farmer had 3 children - Kathy, Carolyn, & Will. Everyone pitched in and spent their days working on the farm and taking care of the cattle. KABIL truly was a family operation that kept them close through the years.

Katie & Farmer (2002)

Katie & Farmer built their life together on a foundation of faith, family, and hard work. Through the ups and downs they persevered and had the joy of seeing their children continue the legacy. After Farmer passed away in 2004, Will took over the farming operations while Kathy took care of the cattle.

The KABIL legacy continues

In 2013, Will and Kathy decided to join their farming and cattle resources together with a plan to serve the growing demand for smaller grow yards and custom feeding solutions. KABIL Cattle Company has since become one of the most respected and in-demand feedyards in the Texas panhandle.

Serving customers from all across the US, KABIL continues to innovate and expand.

We are proud of our heritage, grateful for our blessings, and excited for the future as the next generation of our family continues what Katie & Farmer started so many years ago.
